O, I weep with joy!
Jun. 19th, 2009 08:35 amHard cider is gaining traction. I've been fortunate to live in a time where we saw a resurgence of microbrews, single malt whisky, more recently aged sipping rums. And the other liquors as well -- bourbon, gin, vodka - but that's all lost on me...
But Cider has stubbornly been stuck on in a rut. Oh, it gained some traction - a couple of brands. But mostly, the innovation has been in adding fruit (which usually means too sweet) which is really just an attempt to grab the wine cooler drinkers. Fetch and I have been drinking our weight...and the weight of others...in cider in an attempt to drive the industry. But even we could not drink enough K to keep it in distribution. We've re-focused our efforts on Strongbow and would appreciate any help you can give.

brings me to near tears -- because THIS is what needs to happen to make Cider a serious category. One where we can walk into ANY liquor store and find a decent (again, non-Woodchuck) cider selection. Instead of having to special order, or hope against hopes that the few stores that carry Strongbow or one of the others isn't sold out.
